Celebrate International Women’s Day with a peaceful morning in nature at the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Join the May Arboretum Society and the Northwest Nevada Bird Alliance for a guided bird walk led by Lauren Whitenack, birding expert and educator, alongside Frances Munoz, Executive Director of the May Arboretum Society.

This relaxed, beginner-friendly walk invites participants to observe local bird species, listen for birdsong, and learn about early spring migration and habitat stewardship—while also celebrating the stories, leadership, and contributions of women in conservation and community care.

Participants will enjoy time to connect with nature, reflect, and gather inspiration in one of Reno’s most beautiful garden settings. A special “Birds & Her Stories” keepsake card will be provided to record sightings and reflections from the morning.

What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate layers, and binoculars if you have them.

All ages welcome. Registration required.
